SARF FUTURE

Everything that will happen (For ex. I will work).

To start the animation, point the cursor on the person, such as „You“!

From top to bottom you can build your sentences. From bottom to top you can build your questions. For statements, always begin with the personal pronoun „I-you-he-she-it-we-you or they“. Include “will” for the future tense and, finally, the action that you require. Only after that can you complete the sentence with place and time (place always comes before time –
P before
T).

I will work in Munich today.

With questions, you begin from the bottom up. If, for instance, you would like to use the question word “why”, begin with this word, then include “will” to indicate the future tense, the personal pronoun, the desired action verb and finally, if necessary, place then time. If you do not require a question word, simply leave it out and continue building the sentence as just described.

(Why) will you work in Munich today?

Note:  „he-she-it-they“ can be replaced by proper nouns such as a first name instead of „he“ or a place such as „The shop“ instead of „it“.

The shop will open today.

1. Note for Advanced Speakers: when using the forms „shall“, „would“, „could“, und „might“ you do not use „will“.

I might come to the party on Friday.

I would work on Friday.

2. Note for Advanced Speakers: „will“ can also be replaced by „am going to, are going to und is going to“. The difference between the form “will” and “going to” is essentially that “will” describes a spontaneous action and “going to” is usually a planned action.

I am going to work on Saturday = I will work on Saturday.
